Destined Rivals: the Team Rocket's Mewtwo ex figures, and its Ascended Heroes sequel
The most valuable Scarlet & Violet card added to the catalog this week is Destined Rivals' Team Rocket's Mewtwo ex at $452 raw with 16,371 PSA 10s. Its Ascended Heroes namesake sits 20% below where it was a month ago.
Destined Rivals (30 May 2025, 244 cards) came into the catalog on 15 September 2026 with every card priced. Its top five by TCGplayer market, all Special Illustration Rares, with PSA 10 populations from BetterPop's 9 September build and PSA 10 eBay averages over 90 days:
- Team Rocket's Mewtwo ex 231/182: $451.83 raw; PSA 10 population 16,371; PSA 10 average $1,308 over 1,046 sales.
- Cynthia's Garchomp ex 232/182: $231.58; 11,052; $542 over 658 sales.

The graded multiple
Across the five, a PSA 10 sells for 2.4 to 3.9 times the raw market. Mewtwo's multiple (2.9×) sits in the middle of that range; Moltres has the highest (3.9×), on the lowest raw price. The pop-adjusted screen fits the Scarlet & Violet era at a slope of +0.32 with an R² of 0.16 on 77 cards, which is to say population explains a sixth of the variation in PSA 10 price there.
The sequel
Ascended Heroes (30 January 2026) reprinted the character as Team Rocket's Mewtwo ex 281/217, also a Special Illustration Rare. On 15 September it trades at $285.95 raw, down 20% from $356.49 on 16 August, the largest 30-day fall among the Scarlet & Violet and Mega Evolution cards the site tracks; Mega Gengar ex (−18%) is next. The Destined Rivals card, read on the same dates, went from $503.06 to $451.83, −10%. Two cards, one character, one month, the newer one falling twice as fast; the site does not know why, and says so rather than guess.
