Thirty days across 291 tracked cards: a flat market with a soft newest era
Between 16 August and mid-September the median tracked card moved −1.3% at raw market; 111 rose, 172 fell, 172 stayed within five percent. The Mega Evolution era was the exception, down a median 10%.
Price-trend posts are a fixture of the hobby's news feeds in September, so here is the site's own version, computed rather than curated. The set: the 302 cards with population data, of which 291 have an observed TCGplayer market read on 16 August 2026 and another between 13 and 15 September, both at or above $15. Raw near-mint market via PokemonPriceTracker; no modelled values anywhere in the sums.
Breadth
- Median move: −1.3%.
- 111 cards up, 172 down, 8 unchanged. 172 of the 291 moved less than five percent either way.
- By era, median move: Wizards of the Coast +1.8% (30 cards); EX Series +1.6% (20); Diamond & Pearl 0.0% (15); Black & White −2.4% (3); XY +2.8% (12); Sun & Moon −0.4% (22); Sword & Shield −2.6% (81); Scarlet & Violet −2.8% (77); Mega Evolution −10.0% (31).
The pattern is simple to state: the older the era, the flatter the month; the newest era fell. Mega Evolution's 31 tracked cards include the Ascended Heroes chase cards released in January 2026, and those did most of the falling.

How to read a list like this
The largest percentage moves are in the thinnest markets. A vintage holo's TCGplayer market price can move on a handful of listings, and a Shining Charizard that prints $3,999 one month and $1,495 the next is a card with very few near-mint copies for sale, not a card that lost 63% of its value in a sense a seller would recognise. The drawdown screen lists it for that reason and shows the eBay sold median beside it on the card page. The era medians, built from dozens of cards each, are the sturdier part of this note; the individual movers are the part to check against the card's own history before repeating.
This note will be reissued as the reads accumulate. It is a description of thirty days, not a forecast of the next thirty.
